Assistant editor, EuroFinance
Introduction
EuroFinance is seeking an assistant editor to help produce content for its global corporate treasury community. A well-established and respected events brand with a loyal but demanding user base, EuroFinance plans to leverage its expertise to become a trusted digital content source supported by sponsorship revenues or subscriptions. The core audience is hungry for detailed, high-quality data and stories in this rapidly changing environment.
Accountabilities
– Support the EuroFinance editor in compiling data from corporate financial disclosures and other sources to create exclusive content on market trends of relevance to the treasury community
– Work with the EuroFinance events and programming team to help transform events into publishable content, such as by transcribing and writing articles based on speaker recordings, and checking quotes for approval
– Conduct and write up the results of surveys of our treasury community on their use of banks, software vendors and other topics of interest
– Engage proactively with the editor by suggesting and writing content that meets the EuroFinance standard for quality and editorial independence
Experience, skills and professional attributes
– Native speaker fluency in written and spoken English, sufficient to interview someone on the phone.
– Graduate level degree in economics or finance
– Skill at understanding and comparing corporate financial statements
– a CFA (full or part-qualification) would be an advantage
– Knowledge of capital markets including the use of derivatives and hedging products – Proficiency in statistics and data visualisation
– Basic journalism/writing knowledge, i.e. ability to write headlines and summaries of findings, and appropriate quotation of sources
– Ability to work to tight deadlines and multitask while operating remotely.
